We’ve designed our pediatric units to be as comfortable as possible, not only for your child, but for you and the rest of your family.

Comfortable, Private Rooms

To make sure each child feels safe and secure in his or her hospital room, we perform all types of procedures in a special “Treatment Room.” After a procedure, which can be painful or scary, children leave the room and return to the comfort and safety of their own room.

Play Rooms and Family Lounge

The unit also includes a play room filled with toys for all ages including a comfortable family room equipped with a television, telephone, and computer.

Home Away from Home

In each room on the pediatric units, you’ll find a cot, pull-out chair, or window bed with extra linens so you can sleep near your child. Each room also has its own DVD player, with access to a library of free movies to borrow. Portable game systems are also available, along with highchairs, rocking chairs, wagons, tricycles and infant swings. If it helps ease your child’s anxieties, we also encourage you to bring familiar items from home.
 
Additionally, we offer a variety of other services and materials to make your stay as comfortable as possible, including:

• A la Carte dining service offers a wide variety of menu selections delivered to your bedside on demand. At First Hill hours of service are 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
• Access to a refrigerator
• Free children’s books
• Visits by gentle service dogs
• Personalized family care packages
• Extra diapers, formula and other necessities
