Hosted by Carolyn McManus, MPT, this online video covers mindfulness meditation and a variety of self-care strategies to manage stress, difficult emotions and physical symptoms. Participants learn mindfulness not as a technique to use in times of stress, but as a way of life.
Good food plays a big role in good health. A growing body of research supports the protective role of the Mediterranean diet against atherosclerosis, cancer, cardiovascular disease, obesity, metabolic syndrome and diabetes as well as respiratory, neurodegenerative and kidney diseases. The Mediterranean style diet is one of the healthy eating patterns recommended by the 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans. This style of eating provides plenty of beneficial antioxidants, dietary fiber and healthy fats such as Omega-3s.
