The Center for Healthy Aging, part of the Swedish Neuroscience Institute, offers comprehensive patient and family-centered care for the prevention, evaluation and treatment of cognitive disorders including Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Through interdisciplinary and innovative care, we partner with you to develop a personalized evidence-based treatment plan.
While aging is inevitable, memory loss and dementia are not. In fact 30 percent of dementias are preventable through risk reduction strategies over the lifespan. Furthermore, people living with dementia may slow the progression of their disease through lifestyle approaches targeting modifiable risk factors, such as diabetes, hypertension and depression.
Programs and services fostering connection and lifelong learning, and which support care partners' needs are vital components of the care you receive. Our compassionate and collaborative model of care focusing on health span, quality of life, and planning for the future provide support to people with dementia and their families at any stage from mild cognitive impairment to advanced dementia.
