Our visits are never short and terse, where I feel "empty" or the discussion is minimal or very elementary, as I have felt before with other oncologists. She provides excellent Information, and gives breadth and depth to our discussions. I always feel well looked after and feel after each visit that I have gained more Information/insight about my care, and I look forward to hearing her perspective. Some oncologists don't share too much of their thoughts. With Dr. Yan, I know I can count on her feedback, that I will always be updated, current and supported.

Dr. Yan is one of Swedish's **BEST** doctors, and she's easily my favorite doctor! I must sound like a broken record regarding my highest accolades for Dr. Yan! I've been a patient at Swedish since 2001, and Dr. Yan has been my oncologist since late 2019/early 2020. I am very fond of Dr. Yan because I KNOW SHE CARES ABOUT ME! I've had a rough road throughout my breast cancer journey, and Dr. Yan has been there for me 100% of the time.Her staff has proven to be extremely important and helped me get scheduled very quickly for appts w/highly specialized drs @ Swedish. Dr. Yan also had many conference calls with these specialists In advance of my appts with them, which was extremely helpful.Furthermore, at our last visit, she could recount in order ALL OF MY MAJOR medical complications, most of my past meds from 3 years ago AND current meds since my breast cancer diagnosis by memory and without reviewing notes on the computer.I appreciate that Dr. Yan has always been very respectful of my boyfriend and welcomes his questions. He asks good questions, and I like having him attend my appts when possible.Dr. Yan is the only doctor from my original "team" of doctors who still remains as a doctor from my original cancer team from 2000. I am very grateful for having Dr. Yan be the lead for my treatment for this second round of cancer.As a side note, I wanted to mention that TWO different doctors from two different providers stated something like "oh, good, Dr. Yan is your oncologist!! That's great because Dr. Yan's so smart!Finally, Dr. Yan can write upside down. It's pretty remarkable. Her RN didn't know about her writing skills when she took my vitals, but it's insane to watch Dr. Yan write in English upside down! It adds to Dr. Yan's uniqueness and exceptionalism!

Dr Yan is wonderful, I've been with her for almost five years now. Through surgery, chemo, radiation and follow up. She always takes the time to understand and explain. She listens and encourages. Hope no one I know ever needs an oncologist but I would recommend her to anyone that does.

I feel as though Dr Yan spends as much time with me as I need to have all my questions answered and concerns addressed. When recommending a new medication (or a change in medication) she has both the data and professional experience with recommended medication to address my concerns and questions. Sometimes the wait in the waiting room seems long, but I think that's because the blood draw that precedes my appointments with Dr Yan typically finish early. Dr Yan is always up-beat and encouraging about my health and progress. She Is forthright in her opinions when recommending treatment(s) and has the data to back up her recommendations.
