What Our Patients Say

Patients from throughout Washington, the Pacific Northwest and the entire country choose to receive their care from our Structural Heart and Valve Disease team. We are proud that we have been able to make a difference in their lives. Their stories encourage us to keep moving forward and to continue our mission of finding the right therapy for the right patient at the right time. We are pleased to share some of their stories.

Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)

Replacing a Damaged Aortic Valve: In July 2014, Dean Polik had a heart attack and began a health-care journey unlike anything he could have anticipated. Heart specialists at SHVI placed two stents and recommended that Dean have his damaged aortic valve replaced before the end of the year. Read Dean’s story on page 12 of the Swedish Medical Center Foundation’s Impact magazine.

Conscious Sedation

As an alternative to general anesthesia, conscious sedation offers patients with structural heart and valve disease several benefits. Watch a video about conscious sedation courtesy KOMO News.
