- On-site labs & ultrasounds
There are numerous health benefits for both parents and babies with breastfeeding/chestfeeding, some of which we're just beginning to discover. Many parents find it to be a rewarding experience that helps them bond with their child, while babies get the perfect first food to help them grow. Breastfeeding is less expensive than formula feeding, and gives babies immunities and "good" bacteria that can help protect them from illness.
Although it's the most natural thing in the world, breastfeeding is something that both parents and babies need to learn together. Our breastfeeding techniques page will give you advice on different ways to position yourself and the baby. You can also get tips on expressing and storing milk, nutrition for nursing parents, and feeding frequency.
- Breastfeeding/chestfeeding support, milk supply, latch issues
- Mastitis, breast pain, engorgement, clogged duct, and nipple trauma
- Frenotomies/ Tongue tie: labial and lingual
- Pregnancy visits for previous feeding challenges
- Infant weight checks
- Return to work

Learn more about why you should consider a midwife.
Swedish offers a unique approach to prenatal care through the CenteringPregnancy program. CenteringPregnancy brings expecting mothers and dads/partners with low-risk pregnancies together for group sessions on all aspects of prenatal care. Lead by a certified nurse-midwife, soon-to-be parents find companionship with other parents with similar due dates and together, share common pregnancy joys, concerns and plans for their new babies. Studies show that group prenatal care reduces premature births, increases breast-feeding and enhances psychosocial outcomes. This can also be attributed to the combination of education, support and knowledge participants gain in a group atmosphere.
