Caring and knowledgeable.

Dr. Merrifield is a good guy. My video visit wouldn't would not perform correctly. Dr. Merrifield called me while I was on my computer trying to connect and he decided to do a telephone appointment instead and we then made an appointment for an in person visit next month.

Dr. Merifield excells in all of the areasnthat make for an excwlent physician in my opmion. I have various medical issues which have givme a broad perspective with reqfards to this question above thats being asked. The multitude of many docprs in many mdcical specialties in hopspital settings and outside practicces over half a century have given me a what I believe fairly accurate understanding of all sides as well as the ability to assertain their ability to navigate certain perimeters that are a must while still giving appropriate true care whike yreating said patients. As with any profession there are individuals who excell withon it as well as some that do jot. Those 2 ends of the coin only make up.a very small percentage though with most falling in between in ability, shill levels and communication abilities. Dr. Merifield falls into the very small number of Drs who excell in all areas. Able to communicate with his patients and explain complicaged issues in an effective matter that my guess is he changes depending on the patient abd other complex variables that he wpuld have to qrecognize within moments, which is a nessesary skill for an excellent physician. He is also extreemly kmoleganle in his feild as well as other feilds. While he is approachable he maintains the perfect degree of professoonalism.

Doctor reviewed MRI and suggested treatment for pain relief. The treatment is valuable as I do not want to take any medications for pain. He Is thorough and kind uplifting personally. I would recommend any one experiencing pain to visit him.

Dealing with Chronic Pain patients takes a lot of skill, understanding, Patience, empathy and being on the forefront of helping people where there is no hope of stopping their pain.Dr.Merrifield and his Team have provided treatments for me that have radically improved the quality of my life and have reduced a lot of my pain levels without having to add more narcotics. I appreciate that he is data-driven and focused on actual results and the well being of me as a patient. He always listens to my questions and explains things clearly. Dr Merrifiekd was calm & respectful,& excellen clarifying my symptoms by asking questions & doing pertinent PE. He took the time to review my prior imaging & current exam findings & to clearly explain his impressive of what was causing my pain & provided a options for immediate Sx control as well as referral to a spine surgeon as he felt surgery woukd ultimately be required. He provided time for questions & was very efficient without making me feel like I was being rushed. He offered to prescibe the medication he recommended but also said he'd provide recommendations to my PCP if she wished to prescribe herself. Finally, Dr M recommended I f/u c him p the surgical consult to discuss but told me to call for an appointment sooner for help if my pain & mobility issues weren't improving with a trial of the non-surgical therapies he'd recommended. I don't like going to Dr appointments, but Dr M is fantastic. Highly recommended!

He listens well, treats me with respect and interest, and is helpful.

While the doctor's technical skills may be high, I don't feel I've received enough relief from him that I should for as long as I've been seeing him. I don't feel a strong enough commitment or sense of urgency to solving or treating my pain.

Swedish has THE BEST OF THE BEST!

Although it was a different diagnosis than I've received during the past 3 years, he explained it very well and gave me confidence to move forward with treatment.

The doctor was very interested in helping me solve a very complex pain issue with my knees. I am extremely grateful for the fact that he listened to me and took me serious about how I felt about my pain issues.

I had to wait three months for the next available appointment. My back pain is excruciating. On the bright side I was on the waiting list and I did get called in two weeks earlier than the expected appointment. I am very appreciative for that.

Dr Merrifeld always listens and asks the right questions. I was in a car accident and although one procedure was planned, due to severe pain related to accident he changed the plan and was able to come up with a plan both for that day and if symptoms didn't resolve.
