Dealing with Chronic Pain patients takes a lot of skill, understanding, Patience, empathy and being on the forefront of helping people where there is no hope of stopping their pain.Dr.Merrifield and his Team have provided treatments for me that have radically improved the quality of my life and have reduced a lot of my pain levels without having to add more narcotics. He and his Team are very positive, friendly and professional.I have been in several other pain clinics in the state of Oregon and Swedish Pain Services and their Staff are the best I have encountered .

He is the most wonderful doctor he listen and help me make the best decisions when it comes to my health problems

Dr. Merifield is always kind, knowledgeable, and professional. As a pain specialist, I'm sure it's difficult emotionally but he always shows empathy and respect. I appreciate that he is data-driven and focused on actual results and the well being of me as a patient. He always listens to my questions and explains things clearly. He is timely to our appointments and also with scheduling future appointments. I am very glad to have Dr. Merifield as my provider.

Dr Merrifiekd was calm & respectful,& excellen clarifying my symptoms by asking questions & doing pertinent PE. He took the time to review my prior imaging & current exam findings & to clearly explain his impressive of what was causing my pain & provided a options for immediate Sx control as well as referral to a spine surgeon as he felt surgery woukd ultimately be required. He provided time for questions & was very efficient without making me feel like I was being rushed. He offered to prescibe the medication he recommended but also said he'd provide recommendations to my PCP if she wished to prescribe herself. Finally, Dr M recommended I f/u c him p the surgical consult to discuss but told me to call for an appointment sooner for help if my pain & mobility issues weren't improving with a trial of the non-surgical therapies he'd recommended. I don't like going to Dr appointments, but Dr M is fantastic. Highly recommended!

He listens well, treats me with respect and interest, and is helpful.

While the doctor's technical skills may be high, I don't feel I've received enough relief from him that I should for as long as I've been seeing him. I don't feel a strong enough commitment or sense of urgency to solving or treating my pain.

Swedish has THE BEST OF THE BEST!

Although it was a different diagnosis than I've received during the past 3 years, he explained it very well and gave me confidence to move forward with treatment.

The doctor was very interested in helping me solve a very complex pain issue with my knees. I am extremely grateful for the fact that he listened to me and took me serious about how I felt about my pain issues.

Dr. Merifield and his team were excellent, and alleviated pain I've been suffering daily for decades. I'm very grateful for their expertise and excellent care.

I had to wait three months for the next available appointment. My back pain is excruciating. On the bright side I was on the waiting list and I did get called in two weeks earlier than the expected appointment. I am very appreciative for that.

Dr Merrifeld always listens and asks the right questions. I was in a car accident and although one procedure was planned, due to severe pain related to accident he changed the plan and was able to come up with a plan both for that day and if symptoms didn't resolve.

Care and treatment were outstanding. Dr. Merifield was excellent. Follow up after failed video appointment was poor. Rescheduled appointment took too long seeing as how the failed appointment was their fault.

I really love the care I get from Dr. Merifield. He's been my pain doctor for years and we have a good relationship. The only thing that he could improve on his responding to MyChart questions. It takes several tries to get the answer I need.

Good - thorough prescreening and imaging tests were discussed along with family history.

First visit with Dr. Merifield. He took time to listen to, and evaluate my condition, including; reviewing records, past treatments, performing physical exam, discussing treatment options and plans. Scheduled a follow-up appointment with me and encouraged communicating via Epic/MyChart in the meantime. Very thorough and encouraging visit.

This provider is pain management specialist. He ordered an MRI and I haven't heard back when the MRI will be happening. Other than that, I'm glad I get to work with Christopher. He's kind and knowledgeable. Working with pain provider's feels stressful at first. Eventually I felt he did see me and hear me.

Of my 70 years of age, Dr. Merrifeild has been one of the best physicians I have had the good fortune to work with. He always aware of all my underlying conditions and if applicable, emergency room visits and reason or reasons for them. My only concern is that He does not retire too soon.

Best provider I've ever had, always listens, provides relevant information, complete 10/10 experience everytime, including the staff he works with. I recommend him and Swedish Pain Clinic to all of my friends and family constantly. I appreciate the level of care Swedish and all staff have provided for me since my first hospitalization back in September of 2024.
