About Martha L. Short
I have been working in neurosurgery in the Seattle area since 2002, and movement disorder neurosurgery since 2005. I work at a center with incredible surgeons, neurologists, and supporting staff. My current position, as senior practitioner in the Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) clinic, is my favorite. I love seeing the difference in patient’s lives before and after their procedure. I believe that well informed patients have an easier time going through their treatment.

I am glad to be able to see the same Swedish PA rather than other clinics where I see different ones that are not familiar with me and my history.

Martha Short is the best programmer for the DBS I have ever worked with. She explains everything very clearly and always asks me for feedback.

Martha is an expert in programming DBS. All I had to do was write an explanatory note on mychart and she responded the next day, with an appointment following in a few days. Great service. DBS is tricky but Martha is premier in programming and explaining why things work as they do. She spent nearly three hours with me exploring different programing options and then implementing what we felt were the best options for my essential tremor. Great gal and a treasure of knowledge with this procedure and programming.
