In addition to her clinical role, Dr. Paulson is a skilled clinical researcher, serving as the Principal Investigator for various clinical trials aimed at bringing the latest advancements in cancer care and the lead for the Center for Immuno-Oncology at the Paul G Allen Research Center. Furthermore, she is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of medical professionals, actively supporting medical students at the Washington State University Elson E. Floyd Medical School in Everett, particularly in advancing their understanding of emerging immunotherapies.
In 2023, Dr. Kelly Paulson was honored as the inaugural recipient of the Jeff Ward Award, established to memorialize him. Outside of work, Dr. Paulson enjoys spending time outdoors in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her husband, school-aged son, and flat-coated retriever dog. She especially likes downhill skiing, camping, hiking and swimming.

I am eight months into my cancer journey. Dr Paulson has been associated with my case for about six months and directly managing it for five. During that time, I have had two major surgeries to remove tumors, five radiation treatments, and ten immunotherapy visits with more to come. However, this is my first opportunity to post a reviewand that is after about twenty office visits and consultations with her. That said, I cannot speak highly enough about Dr Paulson. She is kind, compassionated, and extremely knowledge. She takes the time to make complex things understandable, and answers tough questions in an honest and forthright manner. If I could give her a hundred stars I would.
