Nelson McKay, MD

I’m excited to be part of the team at Swedish Sand Point Primary Care. My background includes a diverse education and work experience that has shaped my approach to patient care. My journey in medicine has taken me to many places—I studied at an international medical school with time in the West Indies, the UK, and across the U.S. After completing my residency in Virginia, I worked in a rural hospital and clinic in eastern Washington, then at a community health center in Spokane. In early 2025, I moved to Seattle and have loved calling this city home. As your primary care provider, my goal is to help you stay healthy through preventive care, while also supporting you in managing chronic conditions and coordinating care with specialists when needed. I work hard to keep your medical record clear and up to date so that anyone involved in your care can easily access important information. Most importantly, I value your input—your goals and concerns will always guide our decisions together. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé and our dog, exploring hiking trails, and attending live music events.
