Selecting a Pillow

The goal of selecting a pillow is to find one that will help keep your spine in alignment, meaning your head should rest in a position level to the rest of your body. Below is a list popular pillows.

CPAP Patients

CPAP patients should choose a pillow that accommodates their CPAP mask such as contour pillows or softer, more malleable pillows that do not cause pressure.

Allergies

Patients with allergies should make sure that their pillows are hypoallergenic (most pillows are).

• Latex and Tempur-Pedic pillows are made of materials that do not attract dust mites and are great options for people with allergies.
• Many stores also carry pillow covers and pads that can be removed and washed regularly which helps prevent dust build-up or mites that cause allergic reactions.
