Pediatric Gastroenterology
Children’s growth is highly dependent upon their ability to digest their food and get the proper nutrition. It’s important that their gastrointestinal system (esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, biliary tract, and pancreas) is working properly. If your child has frequent bellyaches, constipation, diarrhea, food allergy symptoms, or isn’t growing at the same rate as other children, they might need to see a gastroenterologist.
For breathing and swallowing disorders in infants, Swedish has a dedicated Aerodigestive Program. For children with metabolic syndrome, Swedish has a dedicated metabolic health and nutrition program.
We specialize in diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal tract and nutritional problems of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults, including food allergies. We offer comprehensive appointments, spending as long as it takes to get to know you and your child well. Depending upon your insurance plan, we can see patients with or without referrals.
Swedish pediatric Gastroenterology is part of the Swedish Digestive Health Institute, which is made up of highly trained doctors, surgeons and clinicians that work together to treat patients who have digestive system health conditions.
