Newborn Feeding, Breastfeeding, Chestfeeding
Breastmilk has lots of health benefits, some of which we’re just beginning to discover. Many parents find breastfeeding and chestfeeding to be a rewarding experience that helps them bond with their child, while babies get immunities and “good” bacteria that can help protect them from illness and help them grow. Many new families can benefit from extra lactation support. It takes practice and time to learn. Swedish is here to help support and educate you on this journey.
We offer resources close to you.
Swedish now offers a breast milk donation drop-off. This allows mothers who find themselves with excess milk the opportunity to make a difference by giving another baby a chance to thrive.
Are you interested in donating breast milk? Please consider the following:
- Are you healthy?
- Are you a non-smoker?
- Do you have plenty of milk for your own baby who is at least 6 weeks old?
- Do you have 100-150oz to donate?
If yes, call the NW Mother’s Milk Bank at 503-469-0955 or visit www.nwmmb.org for more information on what you should do before making your donation.
Sunday - Wednesday: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
*Please call in advance so we can be sure there is enough freezer space for your donation.
