How do I help my child with a mental health issue?

In many systems, referral information and resources for children who need psychiatric help is limited. The starting point for most parents is the child’s pediatrician. This is a good first step.

Parents should also educate themselves about how to manage their child’s condition, and engage their peers to understand the challenges and legal rights they have at their disposal for getting the care they need in the home or in school.

Pediatric psychiatry is an unmet need, and one that Swedish is committed to addressing.
