About Sharon A. Hinz
Sharon Hinz is a nurse practitioner specializing in obstetrics and gynecology, with a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care. She believes there is often more than one pathway to addressing health concerns and sees her role as a listener, collaborator, and guide. By gathering information and presenting evidence-based options, Sharon empowers patients to make informed decisions that align with their health goals. While she provides professional recommendations, she emphasizes that the ultimate decision rests with the patient, and she is committed to working alongside them—whether or not they follow a specific recommendation—to find safe, effective, and personalized solutions. Fascinated by human biology and women’s health from an early age, Sharon has a particular clinical interest in prenatal care, well-woman gynecological visits, contraception, and perimenopausal care. She is passionate about supporting patients through every stage of life, respecting where they are on their health journey, and working together to promote optimal wellness with the latest scientifically supported information. Sharon earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Pacific Lutheran University and her Master of Science in Nursing with certification as a Nurse Midwife and Nurse Practitioner from Oregon Health Sciences University. She is proud to serve the Olympia, WA, community and looks forward to providing thoughtful, individualized care to each of her patients. I have always been fascinated by human biology and learning about supporting healthy pregnancies as well as women's health. I strive to respect where patients are in their health journey and work towards those goals together in light of current scientifically supported information on optimizing health and treatment of health issues.

When not caring for patients Sharon enjoys gardening, reading, travelling, and spendig time with her family. She grew up in Japan and is working to keep up with conversational Japanese.

I have never had a negative experience with this office or with Dr. Hinz. That is important, as I have had very bad experiences elsewhere that have led me to neglect my health. Dr.Hinz has always treated me with kindness, respect, and given me excellent medical care. She has referred me for what isn't within her aegis and treated me for what is. I value her highly and wish all good things for her.
