I am so glad Dr.Pravin is my neurologist and movement disorder specialist. He recently was out of the state for training and still responded to me on MyChart. He is a male doctor who has lots of knowledge about dystonia and menses. He actually recognizes how much different my dystonia is when I am going to start my menses. Dr. Pravin Khemani shows me how much he cares about the changes in my body and with my dystonia when I am on my menses. I am going through perimenopause and it makes my dystonia harder to deal with. He understands this fact more than most women and more than my primary care provider who is a woman. I really appreciate and respect that he constantly keeps up with recent medical news and research. So, he knows when opinions are changing more and more and when things doctors thought were facts aren't facts now. In a world full of misogyny- Dr. Pravin Khemani gives me hope and proves to me how more men listen to women now and respect our struggles and pain. Dystonia is predominantly diagnosed with women and we absolutely must be treated the same as men who are predominantly diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Dr. Khemani has shown me with his outstanding work ethic, knowledge, empathy and kindness that he is a brilliant doctor.
