About Eileen M. Johnston
At the age of three, Dr. Johnston knew exactly what she was going to do as an adult, and she never changed her mind. She was going to be a doctor. During her third year of residency, she encountered outpatient medical oncology. Dr. Johnston is a multiple time recipient of the Seattle Top Doctor Award and most recently received the 2024 Seattle Magazine Top Doc Award. Dr. Johnston draws a special satisfaction from working with a team of compassionate professionals, all dedicated solely to the care of cancer patients. "Everything here is focused on the patient and on one specialty - cancer care. It's set up to be more efficient, more personalized yet state-of-the art. I know my patients will notice that everything is geared towards them. I like the complexity of oncology, the challenge and the fact that you're bringing the full scope of your medical skills in to caring for your patient as well as their families." Dr. Johnston enjoys cooking, running, swimming, biking, skiing and spending time with her three, young adult daughters.

Usually Dr. Johnston is very kind. This time, however, there was someone shadowing her and she was more abrupt and not as sensitive about talking about my issues in front of someone I was no familiar with. I felt talked down to this time rather than listened to. Maybe she was having a bad day. It was not typical for her.

Doctor did just fine. Was very informative, and explained to me what my problem was/ is, and what to do if it got worse. But, my condition is good, so far, but needs to be watched!

Dr Johnston is one of the few, if only Medical providers that I trust implicitly. Not that the others are not good, however she transcends good. This is somthing I do not take lightly as my opinion of the medical profession, as a whole has diminished substantially in the last decade. Not to be misinterpreted. My other Swedish providers are an excellent well caring team, and I would not change them. Howwever, Dr Johnston is the one provider who's opinion I value above all

During my visit I mentioned to Dr. Johnson pain and swelling in my right leg, a condition that was unrelated to the routine nature of my appointment. Dr. Johnson ordered a doplar scan which indicated a blood clot in my lower right calf. I was extremely grateful for this discovery and the beginning of treatment that she prescribed.

She persevered on her quest for answers and finally working with other doctors found a prescription I was taking should have stopped months ago.
