About Eric Carpentier
Dr Carpentier is a board-certified obesity and internal medicine specialist. He obtained his medical degree at McGill University and completed his internal medicine residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was an attending physician at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School from 2015 to 2023, where he developed an interest in the treatment of obesity and its associated conditions. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. Dr Carpentier promotes a multidisciplinary and multifaceted medical approach to the treatment of obesity, with nutrition therapy, physical activity in combination with medications to help patients achieve their personal goals, improve their metabolic health and live longer, healthier lives.

I had forgotten to schedule my appointment & my medication needed to be refilled. I sent a message on MyChart to the care team asking for an earlier appointment than I was able to book online. I wrote this note over the Labor Day holiday. The first day of business I received a call from the scheduler & they were able to get me in the next day! Great patient care in my book!

Dr Carpentier was having me switch medicines, but wasn't clear about determining the correct dosage of new prescription. Required a few My Chart messages, and when the dispensing pharmacy raised questions about the dosage, he got impatient with my inquiries when I learned of additional possible side effects and cut off further discussion. Not sure he understood my concerns at experimenting with a new medicine and a comparable dosage to what I had been on. I am going to need to find a new dr for this concern.
