My experience with this provider has always been excellent. My concern is not with my provider, but with the lack of access to communicate through MyChart.I was able to request and receive a prescription refill, but I was unable to send my provider a message through MyChart to provide feedback about how the medication was working or discuss any concerns. That represents a significant gap in care. If a patient can refill and take a medication but cannot communicate with the prescribing provider, continuity of care is compromised.I was told this occurred because of Swedish Hospital policy related to the amount of time since my last visit. I have an ongoing chronic condition that does not always require an in-person appointment but does require the ability to communicate with my provider as needed. Restricting access to MyChart messaging based solely on policy does not support effective management of chronic conditions or continuity of care.I value the care my provider has consistently given me, but I believe this policy should be reconsidered to better support ongoing communication between patients and their healthcare providers.
