Shalon McAlister, Doula

Hey y’all, I’m Shalon. I am a childbirth doula here in Washington state. I did my training with the National Black Doula Association in 2020. I knew that I wanted to be a doula before I even knew what a doula was. I manifested this milestone in my life and know that this is what I am destined to do. Births and babies are just my thing. I am amazing at calming others and teaching them to advocate for themselves when it comes to their bodies and bringing a little human into the world. I am the calm. My own birth experience motivated me to pursue supporting families with birth services. I believe that every mother should have their birth their way. I have a passion for supporting black/ African American moms because I am one and I know the birth experience as one. I have been a medical assistant since 2014 and have my associates in healthcare administration. I also am a hair stylist. I love yoga, hiking, and cooking. I enjoy spending time with family and caring for my children. Rate: $2000
