About Sarah Matney

It is my goal to provide you and your family with genuine, personal, and meaningful support throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I have been in the birth work space for the last 4 years and I have supported 80+ families through their perinatal period journey. I appreciate the many facets that are a part of being a doula, and I value the advocacy and empowerment that are inherent in the work. I want every pregnant person to understand their innate strength in facing the wonderfully challenging realities of birth and postpartum! I have my own business, Sarah Rose Doula & Wellness LLC, and I hold a BA in Cognitive Neuroscience from Washington University in St. Louis. I am a certified ToLabor Birth Doula, a Birthing Advocacy trained Postpartum Doula, and an IYA certified Yoga Teacher. I am a 2025-2026 Fulbright Scholar; I lived in India for 9 months and studied the postpartum confinement period. Through direct interviews with mothers, I gained a cross-cultural perspective on postpartum support. It is important to me to provide evidence-based information to my clients, and through the mutual respect grown, I trust in how that information is used and how decisions are made within each distinct family unit. I wish for my clients to lead with trust in their body, confidence in their intuition, and compassion for themselves regardless of the path that labor takes. I am eager to provide postpartum support that holds the needs of the birthing person, partner, and family during those first tender weeks. In all the roles I may play during this rich and transformative transition, I strive to unconditionally and non-judgmentally support my clients and their loved ones. In my free time you can find me outside with my toes in the grass, practicing or teaching yoga, reading the latest novel that has piqued my interest, or talking on the phone with family and close friends!
