I am committed to showing up to each family having a vast difference in cultural backgrounds, morals and ethics I believe it is important to be open and receptive to what it looks like to support the whole family unit. Meeting clients where they are, and withholding from judgement are both important practices for me. Stepping in to support women while instilling confidence is a skill and art that requires removing ego and taking a step back to bear witness to this incredible transition. Having my own lived experience in being a mother who had an empowering birth and breastfeeding journey, I come from a place of understanding and tenderness. Completing my Full Circle Doula Training in January of 2022 through Shafia Monroe Consulting (SMC) was the beginning of my career as a doula aside from the community work and advocacy I've been doing these past several years. I am also a lactation consultant certified through The B.L.A.C.K. Course and continuing my education with ongoing training's as it pertains to maternal health disparities and bridging the gap between underserved communities. It is an honor to be a part of such a pivotal moment, and I am forever grateful for the opportunity to assist your family in such a time.
