Dr De Imus currently serves as the Mohs surgeon and Director of the Mohs Lab of the newly established Providence-Swedish Dermatology & Skin Surgery Department. She specializes in the treatment of Skin Cancer and shares our mission of serving our patients with compassion. In 1986, after graduating from the International School in Manila, I was geared to start a full-ride college scholarship in the US, when tragedy befell our family. My father was in a car accident that rendered him paraplegic from the waist down (T10). I decided to stay in the Philippines to help take care of him. It was the pivotal - best decision of my life- that lead me to become a doctor. Luckily, I was accepted to the INTARMED accelerated medical school program of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine on an academic scholarship as a Presidential Scholar. I was one of the 20 female and 20 males that made up the Class of 1993. I received the honor of being the best intern in Otolaryngology, Surgery, Rehab Medicine. I was awarded the bronze medal for Community Medicine/ Service. After graduating medical school, I was accepted as a resident in the Dept of Otolaryngology/ Head and Neck Surgery at the Philippine General Hospital- where I served as the chief of my class of 6 residents. I trained under the legendary Dr Mariano Caparas and Dr Edilberto Jose. I was planning to specialize in Maxillofacial Reconstructive Surgery, when I had to migrate to the US to join my family. From 1996-1998 I trained at the University of Connecticut Hospitals and Clinics in Internal Medicine. under Dr Richard Garibaldi. In 1997, I was honored to receive the Veterans Award for Geriatric Care and Teaching. In 1998- I was accepted by Dr Vincent Falanga to his newly established Boston University Dermatology residency program at Roger Williams Hospital. I graduated as the founding chief resident in 2001. During my training- I was involved in clinical trials for Apligraf-bioengineered skin substitute and served as a national speaker for Organogenesis. I had the privilege of training in Mohs surgery under Dr Tom Rohrer, Dr Danny Touma and Dr Manual Iriondo (Dr Moh's last fellow). I received a scholarship from the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery to train in laser surgery under Dr Tina Alster at the WA Laser institute. Additional laser training was with Dr Tom Rohrer at Physicians at Chestnut Hill. After Derm residency, I proceeded to do a two-year fellowship in Mohs Micrographic surgery and Cutaneous Oncology under Dr Duane Whitaker and Dr Christopher Arpey at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. During my training, I served as the Mohs surgeon at the VA hospital in Iowa City. I also worked as a dermatologist in Muscatine and Waterloo, Iowa. In 2003, I designed the Mohs lab and helped established the first Mohs Surgery center in Everett for the Everett Clinic (TEC). I served as the Director of Mohs, Laser & Skin Surgery at TEC for the next 19.5 years. During this period, I helped train 6 Mohs technicians. In 2023, I designed the Mohs lab and helped established the first Mohs Surgery Clinic in Mukilteo for Providence Medical Group. I served as the Mohs Surgeon and director of the Mohs lab at this site for 3.5 years before transferring to Bellevue. In Oct 2026- I designed the Mohs Lab and helped establish the first Mohs Surgery Clinic for Swedish Medical group, where I currently serve as the Mohs surgeon and director of the Mohs Lab. My goal is to establish a clinic to improve access to Mohs surgery for all, especially the underserved and vulnerable populations.

I have had some less than wonderful health care so I know a good provider when I see one. Dr. De Imus was great. I always felt like she had my best interest at heart and really cared about doing the best job possible.
