Swedish Believes in Care For All

Swedish has been woven into the fabric of the Northwest for more than 105 years with a mandate to take care of everyone who comes through our doors, regardless of their ability to pay.
Financial Assistance/Charity Care as community benefit in the last year included everything from flu shots to heart surgery, amounting to more than $35 million in service. That commitment to treating the uninsured includes a 4,000-square-foot clinic where physicians see patients at no charge and Behavioral Health beds for those with mental illness.
Our commitment to the community extends beyond our doors as well. Through our partnership with state leaders, we are able to provide community health and building activities and outreach, research and education, in-kind donations and subsidies for Medicare. Combined, these community benefits exceeded $175 million in 2015 and include specific programs such as Global to Local, Somali and Ethiopian health screenings, and the Rural and Urban Breast Mammography coach.
