Professional Statement

Dr. Shereen Morse, MD, MPH -- Dr. Shereen Morse specializes in treating anxiety-related disorders. She is experienced in providing evidence-based cognitive and behavior therapy and is IOCDF * trained in exposure and response prevention—an evidence-based treatment for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Dr. Morse started her private practice in 2006 out of a desire to provide patients with treatment outside of the limitations of a hospital setting. She has the flexibility to spend more time with her patients than she might in a hospital setting. By providing both medication management, when it is necessary, and psychotherapy, she gets to know a patient's whole story. She is able to adapt their total care over time which can make for better and more convenient care for her patients. Dr. Morse is currently a Courtesy Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Washington (UW). She has had an affiliation with UW since relocating from New York City, NY in 2004. Through UW she is involved in supervising and mentoring physicians-in-training. She also holds an active faculty position with Swedish Medical Centers. Dr. Morse is a co-founder and the acting President of OCD Washington, an affiliate of the International OCD Foundation. She is a professional member of the American Psychiatric Association, the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine, the Anxiety and Depression Association of America and the International OCD Foundation.
