Professional Statement

Ben Chue, M.D. received his undergraduate education from Yale University in New Haven, CT, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry. After several years of research studying the immune system, he went on to receive his medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), followed by residency in Internal Medicine and then fellowship in Oncology/Hematology at the University of Washington and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, WA. He has been involved in research at the Yale University School of Medicine, the National Institute of Health, UCSF, Rockefeller University in New York, and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in the areas of the immune system, nutrition, and cancer. He was also the medical director of the Seattle Cancer Treatment and Wellness Center, where he practiced and encouraged integrating traditional western medical oncology with naturopathy, acupuncture, and Chinese medicine. Dr. Chue’s goal is to develop more effective, better tolerated treatments for cancer. He hopes to not only help his patients, but spread the knowledge of his success to help cancer patients everywhere in our search for the cure for cancer. In order to accomplish this he recognizes the benefits of certain types of treatment and is eager to adopt them, despite the fact that they may not be practiced regularly. Dr. Chue was an early user of targeted therapies, and he has been using metronomic chemotherapy, genetic targeted tests, innovative drug combinations, and immunotherapy for nearly 20 years. With these tools he has been able to drastically improve patient’s quality of life throughout treatment.
