Years 1-3
Need 12-14 hours of sleep per day.
By 18 months, 1 nap/day for 1 - 3 hours, no naps near bedtime.
Sleep problems in toddlers are fairly common: bedtime resistance, nighttime awakenings, sleepwalking, and nightmares.
Keep regular daytime & bedtime schedules, and a relaxing bedtime routine.
Set and consistently enforce limits.
A stuffed animal or blanket for security often helps a child to self-settle at this age.
