The Merrill P. Spencer, M.D. Endowed Lectureship enables Swedish Neuroscience Institute to bring nationally renowned experts to Seattle to share their expertise with the medical community. This annual lecture, offered in conjunction with the annual Cerebrovascular Symposium, focuses on the latest innovations in vascular and neuro-related medicine.
This lectureship was established to honor the memory of Merrill P. Spencer, M.D. who enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a physician, professor, researcher and innovator. He earned an international reputation for his groundbreaking work with Doppler ultrasound technology, and was a pioneer in stroke prevention.
