Diabetes Education

We have a comprehensive team of specialists trained to help people with diabetes maintain better health throughout their lifetime. This includes certified diabetes educators, registered dietitian nutritionists, endocrinologists, exercise physiologist and psychosocial counselor. Together, they have a combined experience of more than 175 years helping people manage their diabetes.

Continual education is essential to maintaining good health. Our certified diabetes educators work with you and your doctor to create an individualized comprehensive education program. At the Swedish Diabetes Education Program, we:

  • Teach a variety of self-management skills
  • Provide the latest information on medication management, insulin-injection techniques, meal planning, exercise and dealing with stress
  • Help you manage all types of diabetes, including gestational diabetes that occurs only during pregnancy

In addition to individual instruction in diabetes self-management, the Swedish Diabetes Education offers a variety of classes. All classes are taught in English; interpreters are available for individual sessions.

The Swedish Diabetes Education Program offers educational resources, consultations and classes to help you successfully manage your diabetes and reduce complications. Our program is a recognized program by the American Diabetes Association.
