What is Health for good?
It’s personal. It’s about tending to our individual health and well-being so that we can flourish for years to come. It’s about health that lasts – and the people who help you keep it. And it’s communal. It’s about using our strength of body and mind to take care of each other.
Partnering with the community.
Our roots as the community’s partner in health run deep: Over the decades, we’ve joined forces with countless organizations to bring a greater sense of well-being to our more vulnerable citizens.
In 2020, we partnered with 120 organizations to address homelessness, food insecurity, domestic violence, addiction and chronic illness.
Taking care inside and out.
We’re a health care organization that believes in taking care of our citizens – inside our clinical spaces and out in the community. We’ve been practitioners of care for more than a century. And for as long, we’ve been looking beyond our walls to see how we can practice care in our neighborhoods, too.
Swedish was founded in 1910 as a nonprofit. We continue in that capacity today.
We partner with PRIDE Foundation, Gay City, Camp Ten Trees, Entre Hermanos and Seattle Counseling Services.
In 2020, Swedish received more than $25 million in donations to fund patient care, research and education.
In 2019, Swedish employees volunteered more than 20,000 hours of their time to make communities healthier in the greater Seattle area.
