Holly Christoferson, MD
I was born in New England, and I attended Williams College for my undergraduate degree and served in the Peace Corps before deciding on medicine as my career. I earned my medical degree at the University of Washington here in Seattle and did my family medicine residency training at Swedish First Hill. For the last 11 years I have provided care to patients from diverse backgrounds and of all ages. It's in these years that I recognized my love of caring for older patients, who have unique medical needs. I love the relationship that a physician and a patient develop over time in shared decision making. The idea of additional training to focus on these aspects of care brought me back to this work at Swedish as a fellow in training. As a geriatrician I hope to continue my focus on providing patient driven, cooperative, and evidence based care for my patients. I believe in building knowledge of each patient's issues in a way that balances all that medicine has to offer and all that my patient brings to the exam room. In my personal life, I love to run, play soccer, cross country ski, and have fun with my two amazing boys.
