Liver Care Network Hepatology Fellowship Overview

Training in the 2-year Swedish Medical Center Liver Care Network Hepatology Fellowship includes exposure to and expertise in management of patients with a variety of common as well as unusual liver disorders. The training program incorporates training in all aspects of clinical hepatology and liver transplantation and research.  Fellows will be trained in performance and interpretation of liver biopsy and transient elastography using Fibroscan.  Successful completion of the fellowship will allow the trainee to function independently as a consultative hepatologist, be part of liver transplant program as a hepatologist and be familiar with the research landscape in liver disease.

Requirements

  • Completion of an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine residency program 
  • Eligibility for unlimited medical license in the state of Washington 

Accreditation

  • The Swedish Hepatology Fellowship is not ACGME accredited

  • Current resume or curriculum vitae
  • A one-page narrative describing your interest in wanting to enroll in this fellowship program and your future goals in gastroenterology and hepatology
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation; including one from your current program director

  • Fellowship dates: July 2018 to July 2020
  • Document review, interviews and acceptance: December 2017 to March 2018
