Palliative care expert Dr. Meier, talks about living longer and better
February 17, 2016
Swedish Medical Center invites you to a palliative care presentation by Diane Meier, M.D., Director of the Center to Advance Palliative Care and recipient of a MacArthur Grant for her work in palliative care, on Thursday, March 3. The event starts with a reception at 6 p.m. followed by Dr. Meier’s public presentation at 7 p.m. at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center.
Dr. Meier, a pioneer in the field of palliative care, will provide guidance on the role of palliative care and how to get it when you or a loved one are being treated for a serious illness.
If you are confused about palliative care, this is a great opportunity to learn more about the service and how it may benefit to you. Most do not realize that it is appropriate from the point of diagnosis of a serious illness, whether you’re going to live with it for 10 days, 10 years or more. Palliative care is about living as well as you can for as long as you can.
