Insurance gives me no choice but to see this provider. His English has gotten better in the last year, though. He still spends more time trying to teach his students than focusing on the patient. Doesn't seem concerned about overall pain treatment. Just insists on focusing on one area at a time. That would be fine, but no one else is worrying about overall pain, and I keep getting referred back to him. Leaves me living in a LOT of unwarranted pain in the meantime. He also confuses his medical terminology way too easily. Uses the wrong words and descriptions for procedures. What worries me most is that, when I asked about complications, he raised his voice to insist there were none, except, as he stated "you'll either get better or you won't, you'll get worse."

Lousy first experience. Dr. was 40 minutes late, and I was left alone in waiting room with no info. Support staff seemed clueless as to Dr.'s whereabouts as I was waiting. Dr. then attempted to conduct a 1-hour visit in 15 minutes, was unfamiliar with my medical history (despite my completing all the intake forms in advance), and made a poorly-judged care recommendation. Dr. seemed rushed, distracted, and not particularly tuned into my needs. Poor standard of care.

Dr. Yu is professional and businesslike. He showed great concern for my condition and was very thoughtful about deciding on the treatment. He spent a good amount of time talking to me about my condition.

Provider seemed rushed in a hurry - I felt that he is sometimes does NOT have time for me to ask questions! I think he is a FANTASTIC DOCTOR - his manner is not always good!

I've seen Dr. Yu for several years now, and his ability to communicate has improved as he got to know me. he can be very stern when need be. But he has really helped me. also, he has referred me to surgeon this year, which resulted in serious surgery.

Dr. Yu is a great doctor but many times seems rushed and reluctant to answer questions because of he is needed elsewhere

Dr Yu is terrible communicator, but his skill is unmatched. I tried a different provider who was nicer, but his skill was no match for Dr Yu. I'll take Dr Yu's skill that provides me with some rare pain relief over a nicer doctor with less skill.

There are questions/items on the intake form regarding my physical and emotional status which were never addressed. if there not relevant to my care, why are they on the intake form? Patients shouldn't be asked to fill out information that no one reads or comments about. I don't plan on answering these questions in the future.

[...] Dr Yu is a very skiled and competent doc. He's very good at what he does. He's just not a good listener or communicator. Does not really answer my questions to my satisfaction. I've had a LOT of procedures, surgeries, medications, etc. And I've had some very bad and very painful outcomes from some of those procedures. I'm not likely to try any other recommendations without sufficient info.
