Research

I am a board certified Obstetrician Gynecologist. I have been with Sound Women's care since 2007. My particular interests lie in treating pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence.

When I started medical school, I thought there was no way I would go in to OB GYN specialty. I do not think you need to experience everything to empathize or to be a good practitioner. To me, praciticing medicine is really about listening to people and paying attention to what they are truly concerned about and helping them through their issues.

PATIENT RATINGS AND COMMENTS

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey.Responses are measured on a 10 - point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5 - point scale in order to display results in a 5 - star rating.Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments.

if only dr Bourne was a general dr, then I could see him more often! he is one of the most compassionate and understanding persons I have ever encountered. He listens to all of his patients (I have friends who see him) and makes them feel like their questions and concerns are all that matter. He is there for OB issues, but you leave feeling like you just had a mini counseling session. He is a rare find and I have the utmost respect and trust in him.

I really like Dr. Bourne. Ob/GYN appointments can be awkward with a male doctor, but they are not awkward with him at all. He is very friendly, respectful, explains things thoroughly (without going into superfluous detail) and makes sure all my questions are answered.
