The Community Specialty Clinic was developed in partnership with King County Project Access (KCPA) , a nonprofit organization that helps low-income uninsured patients get access to specialized health-care services.
At Swedish Community Specialty Clinic, we:
- Provide another resource for those who have no other options for specialized care.
- Combine several existing and new services under one roof and improve care through innovations such as electronic health records.
- Serve as a dedicated space for volunteer physicians to meet with patients.
- Include a support staff to help maintain physician schedules and set initial visits and follow-ups.
Serving the Community
Charity care is a core part of Swedish’s nonprofit mission. The Community Specialty Clinic was formed as a result of consolidating two Swedish community clinics – Glaser Surgical Clinic and the Mother Joseph Clinic – both of which provided specialty medical care to uninsured and under insured populations by volunteer physicians.
