Know the Signs of a Stroke (F.A.S.T.)

Time is Brain. In the event of a stroke, every minute counts.

Stroke care at Swedish is designed to ensure that stroke patients receive safe, timely, comprehensive care using the most advanced treatments available.

Swedish Cherry Hill and First Hill are Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Centers. This designation recognizes the expertise and dedication of the Swedish Stroke Team, which includes physicians, nurses, imaging and lab staff who are available 24/7 to respond and provide individualized care within minutes of a patient's  arrival to the Emergency Department. Swedish Cherry Hill consistently maintains "door-to-needle" times well under the national standard of 60 minutes, and the ability to perform and interpret urgent CT scans and MRIs, as well as quickly process lab tests for stroke patients.

The Stroke Program at Swedish is proud to offer 24/7 access to neurologists, neurosurgeons and neurointensivists, stroke trained nurses and therapists and a comprehensive rehabilitation program.

Swedish has the largest regional TeleHealth network in Washington State. The TeleStroke program uses secure video technology to provide emergent stroke expertise to communities and ensures that a stroke patient's window of opportunity does not close before they receive critical treatment.

Emmi programs are web-based presentations that take complex medical information and make it easy for you and your family to understand. You can view these programs online for free, and share them with your friends and family.
