Patient Referrals: What You Need to Know

The Swedish Cerebrovascular Center is a leader in treating cerebrovascular diseases, and is part of one of the largest neuroscience institutes in the country. Our neurosurgeons are specially trained in complex cerebrovascular diseases, and evaluate nearly 500 patients a year — one of the highest volumes in the Pacific Northwest. Find a board-certified neurosurgical specialist.

Your patient may be at higher risk for a cerebral aneurysm if they have two first degree relatives (sibling, parent, grandparent) with a history of cerebral aneurysm.

If your patient is at higher risk, order an MR Angiogram (MRA) or CT Angiogram (CTA) to screen the patient for an aneurysm, and then refer to the Cerebrovascular Center if necessary. For emergent cases, call the Swedish Transfer Center 24x7 at 866-470-4233.
