Swedish Pediatric Specialists/Cardiology

Swedish Pediatric Specialists/Cardiology

Adults aren’t the only ones who benefit from Swedish’s expertise in cardiology. Pediatric heart specialists at Swedish have the technology and specialized training to perform catheterizations on babies weighing less than one kilogram.

Equipped for the unique needs of children

Through Swedish Pediatric Specialty Care, we offer a Pediatric Catheterization Lab and a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit; both are equipped with the most advanced technology available. Other services include fetal cardiology and echocardiography, a noninvasive procedure that uses ultrasound to visualize internal structures of the heart.

Overall, Swedish has created an environment that gives our young cardiac patients the best of two worlds. Pediatric cardiology operates under the umbrella of the world-renowned Swedish Heart & Vascular Institute, while providing each child with an individualized plan of care that is specially designed for our youngest patients.

Continuity of cardiac care for newborns

Now, children born at Swedish with heart problems can be treated immediately by physician specialists with the training and the expertise to first diagnose, and then treat, their specific cardiac conditions.
