The Gossman Center for Advanced Healthcare Simulation is a 6,000 square foot space that includes two large simulation rooms, and one small simulation room. In addition, we have 2 conference/debriefing rooms (1 large, 1 small) that we use for post-simulation debriefing and lectures. The space has full audio-visual capabilities, with 28 pan-tilt-zoom cameras, 8 overhead microphones, and multiple wireless microphones. Teleconferencing and videoconferencing are also available, as well as wireless internet access in our conference rooms. Catering can also be provided per request. In addition to simulation education, we also rent out our space for workshops, conferences, and lectures. For more information on room rental, please contact us.
Large Simulation Room
Our large simulation room has 568 sq. feet and was designed to look like an operating room or emergency department. Each headboard in this room is equipped with fully functional O2 and medical gas, as well as vacuum suction.
Small Simulation Room
Our small simulation room has 383 sq. feet and was designed to look like a standard inpatient room. Each headboard in this room is equipped with fully functional O2 and medical gas, as well as vacuum suction. Additionally, this room has the capability to simulate a power outage, with emergency lights and the ability to videotape learner activity using infrared cameras.
Moyer Debrief Room
This room is our large debriefing room, and seats up to 30 people. Here, learners can review and discuss video of their simulation experience, observe lectures and presentations, and participate in teleconferencing and/or videoconferencing.
Small Debrief Room
This room seats up to 15 people, and is designed as a break-away room from the large debrief room, or for small group interactions. Here, learners can review and discuss video of their simulation experience, observe lectures and presentations, and participate in teleconferencing and/or videoconferencing.
The Control Room at the Gossman Center is the high-tech environment where all of our simulation recording and manikin operation takes place. Our cameras allow us to zoom in to capture very detailed small images as well as a large, broad view to watch an entire team at work. Wireless microphones enable us to hear what learners say during simulation scenarios, and direct feedback can be provided to team members through overhead and headboard speakers in each simulation room, as well as through wireless earpieces worn by the team leader. After the simulation is complete, the team can watch the recorded scenario in the debrief rooms to observe their performance.
