About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments.

[...] there's always a bit of a feeling that you're a number [...]. This is fine by routine gynecological exams, but when I was pregnant with my first child (for which this was the 6-week followup visit), I really craved a more focused experience.

It was hard to get an appointment with Dr. Zia quickly, but I certainly understand why - she's a great doctor and I'm glad I was able to receive her care.

Dr. Zia is the best. She explained a sort of embarrassing situation in a way that made me feel comfortable, and is very respectful at all times (doesn't push pregnancy the way some OBs do for women of my age). She brought up a My Chart message that I had sent months ago and wanted to check if I was still having that issue or question, I had forgotten about it but I appreciated talking about it with her. I am never going to anyone else!

I loved Dr. Zia, she explained everything about my procedure clearly and I felt like she really listened to me when I had questions or concerns. I was very nervous about getting an IUD inserted but she made it so much easier to handle, I've already recommended her a couple of times.

I love how calm Dr. Zia is - I know as a first time mom-to-be - "Don't worry about it" is the best - Advice, but occasionally I'd like more info on WHY I shouldn't worry.

I am a new patient for Dr. Zia, and my appointment with was for an annual pap. However, she determined that I didn't need one because it was within the 3 year window. So instead I opted for a pre-conception visit to discuss a first pregnancy. Our conversation was unhelpful and I am very dissatisfied with the visit. Dr. Zia's sped through a litany of generic advice, consisting mostly of "you're young and healthy, there's nothing to worry about. Take folic acid ... don't worry, relax. It could take up to 1 year. Don't worry, relax." Her demeanor was rushed and off-putting. She did not ask me anything about my medical records, leaving me with the sense that she was trying to move on to other things, and wasn't concerned about my questions or concerns. I didn't learn anything more than what I could find with a basic search on the Internet. I am contemplating a first pregnancy, and I was nervous and didn't know what questions I should be asking. Instead of taking the time to get to know me and talk through this big decision, she gave generic advice without asking a single question, and moved on in about 10 minutes. This appointment was very disappointing.

While Joy Zi was away, I saw two other providers covering for her while she was out. I felt glad I'd chosen her as my OB, even though the other kids were nice too. Since I will be induced, I am 90% sure that Joy Zia will be the one actually delivering as well, so that's nice.
