Rachelle believes strongly in advocating for her patients, empowering them to participate in their healthcare decisions, and respecting each patient’s life experience, beliefs and journey.

Rachelle travels to Sub-Saharan Africa and Central America to provide women’s healthcare, including obstetric fistula repair. She has lived and worked in East and West Africa and continues to volunteer as a women’s health advocate in the US and overseas. She is a Northwest native who spends her free time traveling, hiking, boating, fishing, running and spending time with her family.

Provider was good in her scope of practice. That was clear. But I wanted more answers and more of a possible plan on how to proceed. There was a disconnect there for me. And I had knowledge of alternative care for issue at hand and provider could not speak to that. Not her problem, just her training. She did recommend someone to her credit. Felt provider was good, but frustrated that what was being offered was limited. [...]
