Patient Ratings and Comments
About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments.

Provider was fine, but RUSHED through the appointment. I understand that there are many patients that need attending but this actually felt ridiculous. I was lucky that I had a simple problem (I pretty much just needed antibiotics) but I would have felt totally at a loss if I did not understand what I was going through.

I came to this appointment after being sick on and off for awhile and finally felt the need to see someone to get acute relief as well as talk about more chronic management for my condition. The MD I saw did not do an entire exam for my problem, seemed VERY rushed, and punted all of my questions to an appointment he said I needed to make with my PCP. I was very unsatisfied with my visit, especially knowing how much I paid out of pocket for it. I left very discouraged and will most likely not follow-up with my PCP because of cost. It was a very opportune time for that provider to answer a few simple questions and provide recommendations for a chronic condition to improve my health. [...]

It seems difficult to get an appointment in a timely manner. Once the appointment is set, it is extremely good.

Did not make me feel bad about requesting an X-ray initially for a really dumb accident. Reassuring after exam of injured area.

Dr Szalay was incredibly helpful. I am [...] and know that seeing a provider who is not your regular pcp in order to get pain medication is an "iffy" situation in the current clinical climate. He was very understanding and provided several different options to choose from and did not minimize my issue. Very professional and kind.

*The doctor was impatient. You could tell he wanted to rush through the appointment and go home. *When asked about side effects of medication, he said that 'generally those he has prescribed this medication to have done well'. That is a very small sample size, and what matters most is the broadly available data. *When he came in the room and shook my hand, I said "I likely have the flu, so you will want to wash your hands." He then washed his hands, but before he did, he typed something up on the computer. This demonstrated that he didn't take the spreading of germs in the office seriously, and also was a bit disrespectful to me as a patient. What if I had norovirus, or a highly contagious form of flu? I've found that some doctors have a problem with a patient telling them anything they feel they should already know.
