Biography & Education

I like to partner with my patients to help them make decisions about their health care. By using current research that applies to the situation my patients can have the best information to make those decisions. Our office offers multiple options for alternative medicine providers who work as a team with me to provide my patients the best comprehensive care.

Patient Ratings and Comments
About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments.

In many instances, I am perhaps a thorn in her practice during my visits. I have no challenges in asking questions and getting answers--also no challenges in questioning conventional answers that I am aware she must give and abide by. Regardless of my questioning, however, her sense of humor with me, and her patience more often than not, are valuable guides to my understanding of my health challenges, and more often than not--in following her direction.

I didn't realize I was getting two prescriptions. I thought there was just one that was called in. [...]

[...] I am extremely pleased with my doctor. I feel like she cares about my health and well being. I never feel rushed and she always answers any questions I have. She is thorough, knowledgeable, kind, caring, and friendly. She is the best doctor I have ever had!

At a previous visit, the provider was very rude to me. I was hurt and told the nurse in charge. She apologized. This time it was very good. So I am waiting to see how it goes.

Dr. Spence is a good listener and really works to communicate in a way that is respectful.

Dr. Spence is great at asking questions, providing answers and really listening.

Dr. Jennifer Spence is my primary care doctor and is excellent in all fields.

Doctor did not ask is there anything that is bothering you? She didn't want to hear any new issues and told me I have to come back another time.

YES, we even discussed my recent cataract surgery and the need for me to have annual eye checks with my ophthalmologist. She always demonstrates that she cares for me a whole person. [...]

There is a quality spectrum for physicians that spans from uncaring and clinical to almost like a member of your family. Dr. Spence is at the later end.

I liked the fact that the provider was not just focused on the symptoms and suggesting medication right away as the first option but tried to gain an overall picture to suggest possible alternatives.
