Additional Information:

I spent the first 15 years of my career in academic practice, developing new procedures and training the next generation of physicians in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. For the six-year period immediately prior to joining Swedish, I was the Chief of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of Washington. I am fortunate enough to have had a role in the development of many medical procedures and techniques that are now routine, including Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE), minimally-invasive therapy for varicose veins and venous insufficiency, and the use of stents and stent-grafts (endografts) for the treatment of peripheral vascular disease and aneurysms.

Dr. Torrance Andrews was recognized as a 2011 “Top Doctor” in Seattle Metropolitan magazine’s annual survey

Nearly 4,000 doctors in the Seattle metropolitan area endorsed their peers in Seattle Metropolitan magazine’s annual “Top Doctors” survey.

Philosophy of Care

Excellence in medical care requires a long-term partnership between the patient and the provider. Though it may be judged most easily by the outcome of a single procedure, the best medical care begins long before any procedure that might be performed and lasts indefinitely.

Personal Interests

I enjoy wakeboarding, snow skiing, and biking with my wife and two young daughters.

Medical School

University of California, San Diego

Residency

UCLA - Harbor Medical Center

Fellowship(s)

Johns Hopkins Hospital

Board Certifications

Diagnostic Radiology (1995); Vascular and Interventional Radiology (1998)

Professional Associations:

Society of Interventional Radiology; Society of Vascular Medicine

Awards:

Teacher of the Year, Johns Hopkins Radiology 1995-96
