Patient Ratings and Comments

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments.

[...] I also asked Dr. Moen for a psychiatric referral, and was told today by the referral coordinator that I will have to contact each of the local psychiatrists listed on [...]'s website to find one who is taking new patients. It's a lot to ask of a severely depressed patient. Swedish seems to have no behavioral health services and was probably a bad provider choice for a patient that needs them. I wouldn't recommend Swedish to anyone with depression.

Dr. Moen is a nice guy. I answers my questions for the most part, however some questions go unanswered and I usually have to explore answers on my own or ask/schedule follow up appointments.

[...] Dr Moen on one visit tried to get me on High blood pressure pills and three times I told him in one visit. NO I don't want any pills. [...] I do not need to be put down by anyone especially a doctor that all he cares about is pushing pills. [...]

I have told people about Dr Moen and how good he is but not many people from the Kent area want to go to Seattle for their Primary Care physician..but I do because I feel fortunate to have him as my doctor and dread the idea of the trial and error of having to find someone new.

This was my first visit with this MD. […] I came in with R knee pain and I was looking for this Dr (being an Internal Medicine Dr vs a family practice to have a better inside on knee pain and surgery options or alternatives. I am really overweight and I was looking for a provider that would think out of the box. […] He even said" well, to be honest I really dont know much about the ortho Drs and what options are there for you. He gave me a phone to call and make an appt with the ortho Drs and asked me to come back for a physical and pap and my mammogram. It left me with a feeling that all he wanted was do routine care. I will not be returning to this provider or this location

Generally speaking - not directly related to the performance of this provider - doctors are being forced in to spending less and less in person time with a patient. This is an unfortunate circumstance. [...] This provider did a great job in the time allotted but would probably have done even better if [...] allowed for more time per patient.

I highly recommend Dr. Moen for anyone's health concerns. He's an excellent physician. I like the fact that he can laugh at my good-natured jabs and jokes about my "nanny-care" references. Great guy.

Dr. Moen is a great doctor. I usually prefer to see a nurse practitioner or PA because most doctors seem rushed or disinterested. I don't get that sense from Dr. Moen. He doesn't seem rushed; he asks questions about what else he can do (he doesn't seem like he's trying to get you out the door ASAP). Hi is friendly, a good listener, and accommodating. I would recommend him to family and friends [...]. Very satisfied! Nice office staff, too. He is definitely an asset to Swedish.

He always gives me a written summary of his instructions. I've never had a doctor do that before and it's helpful.

One of the reasons for my last visit was due to hearing loss. I was tested in the office, referred to an ear specialist where I was given a test by an audiologist and it was determined I needed hearing aids. I am waiting for the aids to arrive. This was all accomplished in about 2 weeks. This demonstrated an efficient referral process.

For general physical issues, Dr Moen is very good. But for mental health treatment, prescribing anti-depressants, depression issues, I think I would prefer a specialist.

Dr. Moen is a fast-moving doctor which has it's pros and cons. I was told my more than one staff person he is known for keeping his appointments on schedule, which I appreciate greatly (rarely a delay). Didn't seem to want to over explain anything. I find myself always having to ask numerous questions which the doctor then makes me feel silly about asking

I have had experiences with doctors varying from exceedingly excellent to lackluster and disappointing. My experience with dr. Moen has been set an all time low for me. He has a very poor bedside manner. [...] Dr. Moen was short and curt at the end of the appointment when I brought up a symptom that I thought may be associated with my condition. He blew it off and said we could address it in a future appointment if needed. [...] I will not continue care with him [...]

Dr. Moen was more concerned that I was five minutes late to my appointment than he was about providing a complete physical and answering my questions. [...] He spent more time typing a recap of my appointment than he spent in the exam room. I have never been so poorly treated by a doctor (especially within the Swedish system.)
