Philosophy of Care

Dr. Huehnergarth’s practice encompasses all types and stages of heart disease. He is interested in predicting future risk of heart disease and treatment to reduce this risk. He is also interested in treatment of more advanced forms of heart disease including coronary artery disease and angina, congestive heart failure, valvular heart disease and cardiac arrhythmias. Dr. Huehnergarth takes a personal approach to each patient and feels that it is important to educate his patients about their heart disease in order to develop a partnership in care: "I believe that good medical care begins with communication. My job is to listen to each patient in order to make a diagnosis, then provide education about that diagnosis. When individuals have a good understanding of their medical condition and feel comfortable asking questions, I feel that they are empowered to be advocates for their own health and well-being."
