Dr. Heffernan is a board certified specialist in Oculofacial Plastic Surgery, the highly advanced subspecialty of ophthalmology and plastic surgery with a comprehensive focus on the eyelids, orbit, periorbital region, and face. As an Oculofacial Plastic surgeon, he can diagnose and operate on virtually any functional or cosmetic deformity of the eyelids, tear ducts, or mid-facial structures.

Dr. Heffernan is a fourth generation Seattle native and received his medical education and completed his residency at the University of Washington. His credentials include board certification by the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Medical Doctorate (MD) degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine, and fellowships in Oculoplastic Surgery and Facial Cosmetic Surgery at Louisiana State University Eye Center and Oculoplastic Surgery at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami School of Medicine.
