About General Neurology at SNI

Neurologists at Cherry Hill provide consultative evaluations and diagnoses, develop treatment plans and follow patients over time. A key element of the program is the close partnership between a neurologist at the Swedish Neuroscience Institute (SNI) and a patient’s primary-care physician, the individual who is essential to long-term monitoring and regular routine follow up.

The specialists at Cherry Hill are able to evaluate and treat the broad spectrum of neurologic disease, including multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, tremors, dementia and headache. Additionally, they are fellowship-trained in electromyography (EMG) and, therefore, have added expertise in the study and treatment of neuromuscular diseases, such as Guillain Barr and other neuropathies, ALS and carpal tunnel syndrome. The program accepts referrals to perform EMG studies or to take on a more comprehensive role of performing the study, and diagnosing and treating the patient.

Patient Ratings and Comments
About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments.

He was amazing. He was caring, a good listener, showed concern, answered questions in a way which I could understand. He spent a lot of time with me as it was a first appointment. He reviewed my MRI scan in detail and answered questions about that. I thought he was EXCELLENT and I was getting a second opinion after having met with [...]. So I really appreciated him. He is excellent.

My only reluctance is recommending Dr. Gierke is related to the Seattle locatin, not the quailty of his care or his demeanor.

Dr. Gierke is a gem. He is very positive about my condition. He has made me feel like I can reach for the stars and also has a great sense of humor. We have both agreed on a suitable treatment plan tailored to my lifestyle and goals. His knowledge and expertise has allowed him to diagnose my epilepsy on the first go. He takes time to explain the condition, answer questions and really take the time to get to know the patients. His heart is really in this. It is not only for the paycheck. He truly cares about every patient that walks through the door. I know I am in good hands. I really hope he is recognized in some fashion.

He mentioned a medication that I haven't tried but didn't follow up w/it or explain further. He spent AMPLE time w/me listening to ALL the details and I really felt he listened & thought "outside the box."
