About Dr. Gersappe:
Dr. Vrushali Gersappe is board certified in Psychiatry and a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. She completed her Psychiatry residency and Sleep Medicine Fellowship at SUNY-Buffalo, NY. She also completed specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) at SUNY-Buffalo and the University of Rochester.
Prior to joining Swedish Sleep Medicine, Dr. Gersappe worked as a sleep specialist at Sound Sleep Health in Seattle. She was formerly a sleep specialist in the Department of Internal Medicine at SUNY-Buffalo, where she founded a CBT-I (cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia) clinic, and was formerly Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at SUNY-Buffalo.
At Swedish, Dr. Gersappe takes care of patients with all types of sleep disorders including:
- Obstructive sleep apnea
- Circadian rhythm disorders
- Restless legs syndrome P
She conducts a cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia clinic for patients with insomnia. She has experience in Tele-Medicine and will be using her skills to develop a Tele-Sleep program for outreach hospitals in Washington and New York.
Dr. Gersappe is passionate about research and education and conducts community seminars to increase awareness of sleep disorders.
